Does using a generic phone charger affect the iPhone5?
Do generic phone charger cords (even with the white apple box plug) affect the iPhone 5?

Apple recommends using only genuine Apple Lightning to USB cables or third-party cables that Apple has certified under the MFi program.
Using counterfeit or uncertified third-party cables can cause issues including:
- Your iPhone may not charge properly.
- Your iPhone may not sync properly.
- Your iPhone could become damaged.
- The cable may become more easily damaged.
Genuine Apple Lightning to USB cables have certain text and a serial number printed on them.
Certified cables come with the "Made for iPod/iPhone/iPad" logo on their packaging.
Apple also recommends using genuine USB power adapters from Apple.
Apple's warranty does not cover damage caused by use with a third party product that does not meet Apple's specifications.
